I had an older Li-ion Makita brushed drill and on its highest torque setting it would drive large 8" wood screws just flush before running out of torque. This brushless one however on the highest setting will drive the head of the 8" screw over a half inch deep into a 4x4 (and could do more but my arm couldnt hold it still). Very impressive drill driver upgrade over my old one. This unit replaced an older Makita Ni-Cad similar unit from the mid-1980s. Yes, long overdue for an upgrade.
