Makita is a quality tool company. The XWT11 is a good lower end torque impact wrench (210 ft pounds) that is good for many things that does not require mid torque levels.
The new XWT17 will not be out until after summer of 2020 and the price for this impact is a good value ($149 for the kit) Absolutely great for most jobs and to have handy in your trunk when needed.
I placed this Impact in a single hard case with Kaizen foam and fits great in these.
Powerful...Not much bigger than the xdt13. If you are just getting an impact for vehicle use, get this instead of the smaller one. This can do it all.
Has 3 mode control so you dont strip a bolt. Just use a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter. If your using hex bits(philips head and hex drill bits) just get a 1/2 to 1/4 hex adapter...Also another option is the Milwaukee 12V stubby impact.
I was using Makitas xdt12 to remove lugnuts. it does an admirable job since it can reach upto 120 ftlbs and most of my lugnuts are torqued between 70-80 ftlbs.
But i kept feeling the need to get a designated impact wrench and keep my driver to driving in my deck screws.after weeks of debating and ocd nature of "adding to cart, removing from cart, add back in, ordered, cancelled, reordered, cancelled again" and finally ordered, i cant believe why i didnt get this earlier.whereas it may take a few seconds for the driver to undo a lugnut, the xwt took it off with ease.
theres an awesome setting on this model that will detect immediatly after the lugnut comes undone to stop, preventing u from just blipping thru the trigger and having the lugnut fly completely off.ontop of that, its 3 speed settings are very helpful.
somewhere online i read that the first setting was about 60ftlb, 2nd setting 120 ftlb, and 3rd setting max (or 210 ftlb).
putting lugnuts back on was easier and quicker, with torqueing to 60ftlbs on the impact wrench and then using my precision instrument torque wrench to get it to its required torque.the impact wrench is slightly larger and a bit heavier than my driver, but still very compact for what it is.
the pin that holds your sockets down allows for easy on and off. the grip i find fantastically ergonomic and matches the grip on my driver.
interestingly enough, i find this impact wrench to be quieter than my driver.This impact wrench is great and i regret not ordering it sooner.
its comfortable to hold, powerful, and its speed sensors and different speed/torque setting makes this tool very convenient to use.if you hesitated to get this, dont!
