This is one of the best blades i have bought. I truly enjoyed using such, I am moving to get one blade with 60T, I just need it for Crown molding and more special cuts. I truly love this blade...
Used this blade to cut 1/8” aluminum. Made only one cut so far using it but it cut that aluminum threshold like it was butter. Seriously.
This is far superior to the 16T that comes with most of the Makita cordless saws. It works through treated wood with absolute ease.
The blade that comes with most of the new 18V saws has what Makita calls an ultra thin kerf blade, model A-85092. It helps the batteries last longer by removing a thinner strip of wood.
The replacement A-85092 is much more expensive than this T-01404, so I ordered this less expensive one. When it arrived, I measured the width of both blades with an admittedly cheap micrometer.
The used A-85092 blade measured 4.5 hundredth of an inch and a new T-01404 blade (with what looks like a thick protective clear coating of some kind) measured 5 hundredth of an inch.
I believe the kerf width of both blades to be functional equal.
I find that for this size saw blade, the 40 teeth is perfect for finished work as it cuts super smooth. If you are doing rough work or decking or such, it will still work, but takes a little longer to cut.
I use a 16T blade for those applications. I use this blade for cabinet work and fine millwork and it works GREAT! The smoothest cut I can get with my small saw!
Great value for the money, very sharp blades. They did not disappoint. I used them for a framing job and they cut like a hot knife through butter! Very pleased with them.
So far, I've only used the 24T blade. It works great and cuts very smooth. I would definitely recommend these blades. Makita makes fine products.
On a 6.5 inch blade its almost too smooth. (Unless youre doing interior work.) The 40 makes a smooth cut and finish. Takes just a bit longer than my stock 16tooth blade.
24 is probably the sweet spot of a do it all blade at 6.5". Unless again you are doing interior cabinet work, then get the 40. Excellent product as all things Makita are.
