Makita customer service is first rate. Bought this drill in 3Q18 and used extensively. Chuck locked up (likely due to my dropping on slab and it hitting directly on chuck).
Bought another but decided to send broken one in to Makita Factory Service Center in Houston. Warranty only required tool. Kept battery and charger. $15 flat rate USPS.
GOT REPAIRED DRILL BACK IN TWO DAYS. Now I have two drills and am a very satisfied Makita customer.
Makita is a great company and this drill is no different. If you want to do better go Milwaukee but this won’t break the bank and is much MUCH better than a Riyobi

I have purchased several Makita 18v tools for my home so I now have 9 batteries and 3 chargers. I purchased this drill motor so I would now have a second cordless in my tool set.
It is a great tool. I like three features: you can check the status of the battery charge (very helpful when starting a project, I like the light which comes on when you use the tool, and I like the various settings for screwing in fasteners.
Only downside so far is I tend to bump the forward-reverse button which disengages the tool when using it. Not sure if this is a design flaw or just me getting used to the tool
